Why did I decide to write one, two, or even three books about a president of the United States of America?
We’ve had so many presidents who have disappointed us, and I wanted to create one who was a practicing Christian—honest and sincere, with a deep love for God, country, and family. I wanted a listener, someone who was compassionate and understood the trials of others. Isn’t that what our friends should be like?
Yes, I wanted Maggie to be a friend to everyone, although a person like that can be difficult to find. Maggie tries to treat everyone with kindness and honesty.
Maggie was “raised in church,” as we often say. In other words, her family members were devoted Christians. They made sure she attended church with them, and they instilled Christian values in her life. Maggie has a deep faith in God and His promises.
Maggie received a good education, married the love of her life, and was offered excellent jobs. She was a dedicated employee, and those experiences helped prepare her to become a good president. She has strong moral character and unwavering faith in God and country.
There is no room for hatred toward others in Maggie’s heart. She despises what was done to her son when he was taken hostage, as well as the threats made against him and her country. She also hates teachings that encourage people to harm others. Still, she holds firmly to her belief that God will prevail.
Maggie has tremendous compassion for others, especially those who were on the archaeological dig. Every person there was hurt, and some suffered wounds—both physical and emotional—that they will carry for the rest of their lives. Surviving a tragedy is difficult, but with God’s help, we can do it. That is Maggie’s mantra.
We should encourage others, and Maggie does exactly that. If you read the first book, Unlikely Candidate, you will see how she encourages the people around her, especially the man who accidentally killed her daughter. She forgave him and tried to help him overcome his own struggle to forgive himself.

My dear Jacquelin, you know me too well. There are some differences. Maggie can see her target when she shoots her gun. I’m lucky to see the gun.
