Is it really Christmas? Where did the year go? When I was small, maybe four or five years old, I told my grandmother that it took too long for Christmas to come. She was a very wise woman. She told me to wait until I got older, and Christmas would come too quickly. She was so right. It seems like we just opened last year’s gifts, and here we are ready to open them again.
Honestly, we did open our gifts Saturday. Each year it gets harder to get everyone together on the “Big Day”! Piper played with Maggie’s gifts, but she didn’t care. All she wanted to do was snuggle with me.It was a very good day with all the family together.
My husband and I have made cookies for our church’s pre school, but last year we took them at Christmas. Last year we decided to make them for Christmas. What kid doesn’t like cookies at Christmas? Our car is dark red, I had on a red and black top, and my husband had on a red top. My husband has played Santa before, and he keeps his white beard all the time.
When we got out of the car, one sweet little boy looked out the window and said, “There’s Santa and Mrs. Claus.” I was helping the teachers get the cookies ready, and a sweet little boy came up to me and said, “Mrs. Claus, where is your sleigh?”
When a four-year-old asks a question, you need to be ready for an answer. The first thing I thought of was, “The sleigh is in the shop for a tuneup before the big night.”
He smiled and said, “Ohhh.”
My story was ready for this year. The cookies were made, but I had an emergency appointment with a doctor. They can be so pushy. The preschool director came by and picked up the cookies. She explained why we did not get to bring them, and asked did they remembered us coming last year. The sweet little boy raised his hand and said, “I do!”
Christmas and children make it all special.
Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas! Blessings!
