LEARNINGASWEAGE
One thing I’ve learned as I age is patience, and it is the hardest lesson to learn. Growing ran I was a runner, not a walker. I wanted to get there first and fast. Even today, I walk faster than my husband. I try to slow down, but I can’t.
The story has been told a bout my greatgrat0grandma Cress. Poppy Cress worked in the coal mines in Southwest Virginia. He managed the company store. He left early in the morning before the miners got to the mine. Grandma always had her house cleaned, breakfast dishes washed, and lunch started before the miners left their houses. In warm weather, she’d be on the front porch and greet each man as he went to work.
I’m not that energetic, but I enjoy getting things done early. Honestly, I don’t always succeed, but I try. I have a list in my head of what I need to do. I try to get as much done as I can.
Life is too short to let things pile up. I’ve done it, but I’m trying to do better. Lately, writing has been on the end of the list. I have been behind so much. Almost every week, we have several doctor appointments. Right now, April is a “no doctor month.” We don’t have many of these.
Easter is almost here. My mother was born on an Easter morning. My grandmother did not have a middle name picked out for her. My great0grandmothere suggested Easter. Her name was Isobel Easter. I always think of her on Easter Sunday.
Happy Easter.

This is a sweet story, Kathy. My grandmother had a sister who was born on Easter, and she was also named Easter. We called her Aunt Easter. I never knew her middle name.
