Meet Pat Bradley

Meet Pat Bradley

Several years ago, Sandra Robbins and I were planning a writer’s retreat for authors. Sandra told me she wanted to invite a new author to join us. That new author was Patricia Bradley., and that week, Pat and I began a friendship. We’re still friends today, and I’m proud to introduce her newest book that will release on February 6, 2024.

Pat is a wonderful Romantic Suspense writer. I’ve read most of her books, but I think I missed a couple. Each book she writes will keep you in your seat until the end. “Fatal Witness” is no exception. It kept me glued to my seat.

Before I ask Pat a bunch of questions, Pat and I are teaching a class at Mid-South Christian Writers Conference, “AI, Natural for Writers” March 15-16,2024. You can get more information at midsouthchristianwritersconference.com. Pat and I would love to see you.

Welcome, Pat! I’m sure the readers would like to learn more about you.

Kathy – How many books have you written and published?

Pat–I have written seventeen nineteen books, and I have published all but two of them. Those two will never see the light of day. The books underwent shredding.

Kathy – Do you have a favorite book you’ve written? I

Pat – t’s always the one I just finished. Maybe because I just finished it.

Kathy – How many hours do you spend writing?

Pat – It depends. This past year I wrote two 95,000-word books—many days I wrote at least ten hours. I’m not planning on doing that again!

Kathy – Why write about Southeast Tennessee?

Pat – I love the mountains around Chattanooga. I’ve been going up there for the past twenty-six years and I’ve always wanted to set a book there…so I did.

Kathy – I missed the first book in this series, but I’ll pick up an E-book. Do you have one more after this one?

Pat – Yes, but since these are stand-alones, you don’t have to read the first one. I’m waiting on final edits for the second one now—it’s called Deadly Revenge.

Kathy – Why do you write Romantic Suspense?

Pat – It’s what I’ve always read, even as a kid, well, maybe not the romance part. I’m sure I read the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, but the only ones I can remember are The Bobbsey Twins. I barely remember them, but I do remember waiting anxiously for my next Black Stallion to land at the public library when I was in the fifth grade.

Kathy – Do you try to write a certain number of hours a day?

Pat – I write more to a word count than an amount of time—usually 5,000 words in a five-day week to start with—the beginning is always the hardest and slowest. That’s usually 1,000 words a day. As I get the story under me, I increase the word count, usually to 1,500 words a day. Once I get my word count each day, I can stop.

USA Today best-selling author Patricia Bradley has penned seventeen Inspirational Romantic Suspense books set in the South. She and her two rescue kitties call Corinth, Mississippi home, and when she’s not writing, she likes to throw mud on a wheel to see what comes out.
