She Said “Yes”

That is the text I received from my oldest grandson, Chet Cretsinger. “She said ‘Yes’”! We are so excited to welcome Valerie Hughes into our family. We are all extremely happy to know they are finally engaged.

Wedding date? We don’t know yet. Chet worked at a Wedding Chapel for several years. He parked cars, did odd jobs in the building of the chapel, and loved the farm the chapel was built on. The owner said when he decides to get married, he can use the chapel, and that’s what Valerie wants. The chapel is booked until next year, and they want a spring wedding.

This is our second grandchild to marry. Savannah, our oldest, married several years ago, and she has two little girls and a little boy expected on July 4. I hope he comes on that day, because July 4 is Savannah’s birthday and the country’s 250th birthday. We love this little family so much. Henry is a great father, and the girls are as sweet as can be. Isn’t that what every great-grandparent says?

A big “Thank You” to everyone who sent recipes for my gluten-free life. I’m looking forward to trying them, and I will look into the other suggestions some you sent. I have been gluten-free for six weeks. It seems to be working, and I’m feeling better. My mind is clearer than it has been in years, and I know the gluten had something to do with it. I will keep you updated with my progress.

My writing is still progressing. I’ve slowed down a wee bit this week. I have had to have steroids this week for my back pain, and I’m in a house-cleaning mood. I’m sure I’ll be back writing Monday. My house will be spotless by then.

My lilacs are blooming, and we raised our bedroom window the other day. The wind blew the aroma of the lilacs right in the window. I love the smell.

Have a blessed week.
