FRIDAY DEVOTIONAL

\"\"Recently, we bought a table in a box. It had to be put together. It was only an end table, so it shouldn\’t be too much trouble. Besides the pieces and screws and bolts, it had a book of instructions. It looked simple. Put piece A and piece B together with screws F and G. Simple enough if you followed the directions.

We have an instruction book, the Bible. It\’s simple if you follow the directions. If we did not follow the instructions to put the table together, the table would fall apart. The same is with the Bible. If we don\’t follow the instructions in the Bible, we will be lost eternally. Is it important to you to follow directions?

Moses did not enter the Promised Land, because he did not follow the instructions God gave him. In Numbers 20:2-11, we read what happened. The people were thirsty and there was no water. Moses and Aaron entered the tent of meeting, and God told Moses to speak to the rock. That should be easy, but Moses struck the rock with his staff. That was not what God told him to do. God gave Moses instructions to speak to the rock. This caused Moses not to enter the Promised Land.

We all have our opinions on what we should do to serve God, but what about what is written in the Book? Our opinions won\’t matter in the Day of Judgement because we will be judged by the Book of Life, Revelation 20:21.

If we don\’t study the Bible, we won\’t know what we will be judged with. Become acquainted with the Bible. You will not regret it.
