Today begins a new journey. For the past eight years, I\’ve owned Mantle Rock Publishing LLC. I still do own the name, but I have sold most of the authors to someone else. I\’m trying to figure out my new normal.
No longer will I be thinking about how many books we are going to publish. We kept a few authors to work with, only a few. The authors we kept are people we have worked with for a long time. We will not be publishing more than four or five books a year, and most of them will be mine. Writing is something I have missed since we have been publishing.
I love to write. I may not be the best writer in the world, but I put my heart in it. I love to dream up stories. I always have loved to tell stories to my dolls when I was growing up, and to my children as they were growing up. Now I can write them down on paper and maybe sell a few.
Since I was in the hospital a few weeks ago, my writing slowed down a bit. I am back at it now, and I\’m loving the relaxing of my mind with thoughts of my character. This is what helps me to be sane. When I\’m not writing, I\’m worrying about something or another. When I write, I find peace.
What does writing do for you?
