Once upon a time, a King and Queen were asked if they would like to have another little girl, a Princess in their family. Of course, being the good King and Queen, they said yes!
For several years, the King and Queen loved the Princess, and she fit into their castle very well. She lived with the King and Queen’s three Princes and one other Princess, plus dogs and moles. The little Princess was loved and taken care of not only by her new family but all of the people in the kingdom.
When the Princess became four years old, the King and Queen were asked if they wanted to adopt her and make her an official part of their family. They said, “Yes!” On October 18, 2024, Princess Riley became a permanent member of the royal family.
This is a true story, except for the king and queen part. The family is royalty in my eyes. My husband and I were privileged to be present for this adoption. When the adoption was over, and she was running around with a mole in a tutu, I told her how happy I was for her. She never stopped running, but said, “It’s a good day.” That’s why this little girl is a Princess to me.
Adoption is better than abortion. Riley is proof of that. She is a gift to all of us who know her. I am so happy to be a small part of her life. Dreams for children can come true.
