EIGHTY AND LOVING IT!

YOUR PERSONAL BEST

\"\"After all these years, I can still remember my mother telling me to do my personal best. My dad would say, \”If you dig a ditch, make it the best ditch.\” I still think those are true words.

As we age, we sometimes slip in the personal part. Everyone in the world will not like you. Some will absolutely hate you. I haven\’t figured that out yet, but I\’m still trying. No matter how nice I am to them, they still don\’t like me. I\’m sorry they feel that way, but I am a little outspoken. I\’m working on that. If the Lord lets me live long enough, I pray I will understand how to keep my mouth shut.

My aim in life has always been to be a Christian. To be kind and thoughtful. I fail. I know everyone will not be nice to me, but I try to be nice to them. I try to make conversation, if I can. Remember the mean girl in high school? The one no one wanted to be friends with. Maybe she thinks she\’s better than anyone and loves to cut you down, or maybe she is resentful because of something you have done or do. Can you kill them with kindness? I try.

My tip for this week is to do one nice thing a day. Say something nice to someone, do a good deed for someone. Go above and beyond for one person. If everyone does this each day, we will have a better world.
