FRIDAY DEVOTIONAL

We Are So Blessed

by Kathy Cretsinger

\"\"Yes, we are so blessed as a nation, and as a child of God. God has blessed us to live in freedom, freedom from the Law. We have Christ to thank for that. He gave us the freedom from the old law when He died on the cross. Are you thankful for that?

When God took the children of Israel out of Egypt, He gave them rules to live by, we call them the Ten Commandments. There was more than just the Ten Commandments, but we are more familiar with them. He also gave them rules that they could not break. Hebrews 8:5, They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.”

God gave Moses specific instructions to build the tent. He told him specifically how many rings to make from gold to hang the curtains with, the exact measurements of the cloth to cover the tabernacle, the exact way to make the altar and everything to go into the tabernacle. Every rule had to be followed or it would not be acceptable. When Christ came to earth, He gave us an exact plan. The Holy Spirit told the apostles what to write to tell us what we needed to do. It is the inspired word of God. As the Israelites had to obey the commandments given to them on Mt. Siani, we have to obey all of the rules Christ gave to us.

Too many people have said, \”No one can tell me what to do.\” Some have menat God couldn\’t tell them what to do, but He does tell us what to do. We have to obey all of the commandments in the New Testament to be able to go to Heaven. We will be judged by that book. Yes, God tells us what to do, and we must obey Him.

In our world today, too many people are telling us what they think is right instead of what the Bible says. Too many lives are being lost because people do not believe what God tells us. We have lost the way, and we are not teaching people to obey God. We are letting them do what they want to. We, as Christians, do not believe what the Bible says. either We want to change the Bible. We need to come back to the Bible and read it with open eyes and open hearts. Some of the things written in the Bible may hurt us, but we need to study what God says not what we want.
