Recently, I read a book I enjoyed very much. It was Snowed in with the Prince by E.C. Fountain. I’ve always wanted to help other authors get their book noticed, so I wrote her and asked if I could interview her for my blog. Here are her answers to my questions.
K.C. Have you always wanted to be a writer?
E.C.F. I have always enjoyed writing, but I didn\’t get serious about writing until I was in my thirties.
K.C. What made you want to write this book?
E.C.F. I wrote Snowed in with the Prince because I love the \”snowed in\” concept. It forces people to get to know each other. Being stuck together by snow is a cozy, happy situation, not something that would really put anyone in danger. I like for my books to have a heartwarming, uplifting vibe, and I hope I achieved that with this book. I also wanted to think of a reason a woman wouldn\’t be thrilled to fall for a prince, so that was a fun challenge.
K.C. If you could live any place in the world, where would be your place?
E.C. F. While I\’ve never been there, I really think I would enjoy living on the coast of Ireland.
K.C. Do you have a go-to place to write?
E.C.F. Unfortunately, no. I just write wherever I can, which is often at the kitchen table. I hope one day I will have my own office.
K.C. Do you write every day?
E.C. F. I don\’t… but I wish I did!
K.C. Who has inspired you the most to write?
E.C.F. I\’m really inspired by Nora Roberts, Anne Marie Meyer, Rachael Bloome, Pamela Kelley, and Elana Johnson.
K.C. When you read, what is your favorite genre?
E.C.F. I love contemporary romance, women\’s fiction, and mystery/suspense.
K.C. What is the one place you would like to visit?
E.C.F. Ireland!
K.C. Do you have a hard time working on your writing with your family?
E.C. F. Yes! My family is super supportive, but I often find it hard to balance work, family, and writing.
K.C. How does you day go each day?
E.C.F. Honestly, most days I write in the edges of the day– early morning, lunch break, and before bed.
K.C. What is the most important thing you want to leave readers with when they read your abooks?
E.C.F. I want my readers to close my book feeling happy, uplifted, and hopeful. I want them to feel love and joy from these stories.
K.C. Is the town fictional or is it real?
E.C.F. Forest Grove, North Carolina is the town in Snowed in with the Prince. It is fictional.
K.C. If you could dream for the success of your writing, what would be your dream?
E.C.F. My dream is to be able to spend my days spinning stories and have my time be my own to spend how I\’d like to!
A prince running away from his royal life. A small town librarian struggling to move on from heartbreak…can a snowstorm help this unlikely pair find love?
Prince Gabriel “Gabe” Rafferty wants a normal life. At least for six months. That\’s the deal he\’s made with his father. Six months of freedom, hiding out in a small town.
Genevieve Porter is nursing a broken heart. She’s sworn off men and just wants to spend time with her friends and her books. Falling in love is the last thing on her mind.
When a snowstorm changes both of their plans, Genevieve finds herself snowed in at Gabe’s mountain home. Gabe is drawn to the pretty librarian who sees him for the man he is, not the title he wears. Genevieve surprises herself by letting her heart open up to the possibility of love again.
When the truth comes out, will Genevieve find it in her heart to forgive Gabe\’s deception? Or will their romance be a royal disaster?
Curl up with a cup of hot cocoa and make yourself at home in the small town of Forest Grove.
Snowed in with the Prince is Book 1 in the Forest Grove series by E.C. Fountain. Each story in this series can be read as a standalone book, but it\’s so much more fun to read them in order.
E.C. Fountain writes heartwarming romance. When not writing, she loves reading, spending time with family and friends, listening to book podcasts, watching Hallmark movies, and keeping up with all the drama on Days of Our Lives. While she loves living in the South, she wants a white Christmas at least once in her life!
