LIFE CHANGES

\"\"In the last few weeks,  I have realized I must change my eating habits. I had known I\’d had an intolerance to gluten for about nine months, but it has hit me hard in the last few days. Therefore, I will have a page on this website in the future with gluten-free recipes. There will also be several more resources where you can learn more about me and my writing.

We bought an Instant Pot recently. I grew up with my mother cooking with a pressure cooker. I had one for years. I guess I wore it out, but it was so easy to cook quickly. Now, I\’m learning how to cook again with an electric pressure cooker. Some of my favorite things are boiled eggs. Boiled eggs give you protein and energy. They make a good snack, or you can eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Boiled eggs also help you lose weight. If you are in a standstill with your weight loss, go to several days of boiled eggs and salads. This will jump-start your dieting again.

Other things in the resource page will be places around East Tennessee. I\’m an East Tennessee girl, love the area and the people. It\’s a beautiful place to visit. There is a lot of history in the area where I grew up in Rogersville, Tennessee. I\’m anxious to show everyone the familiar places I enjoyed growing up.

The other thing I will have on the resource page will be places I enjoy visiting, Tybee Island, Georgia, and Scotland. This is going to be so much fun to revisit these places with my readers.

Do you make gluten-free mug cakes? I love them. They are usually one serving, made in the microwave, and they take care of the hollow spot in the pit of your stomach. You can make them sugar-free which I enjoy. I\’ll have recipes for them also.

What\’s up for the next few weeks? I\’ll give you writing tips on Wednesdays. Friday\’s will be about books. Monday\’s will be something friendly and funny. I think we should all enjoy our life. We are happier, and we live longer if we laugh. I will be at the Cranberry Festival in Shady Valley, Tennessee, on October 10. On October 7, I will be interviewed on WCYB-TV, Channel 5 in Bristol, VA/TN. Love that station! After the Cranberry Festival, we are taking a relaxing week at the beach. On November 1, our oldest granddaughter, Savannah Turpin, will marry Henry McAfee. Love those kids! Our fall looks hectic!

KenTen Writers reserved their place at Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, Tennessee, for the next KenTen Writers Retreat. The date is June 21-23, 2021. The keynote speaker will be author DiAnn Mills. We are all praying the virus will be long gone by then, and we can have a wonderful time learning about writing. More information will come later.
