IT\’S SUMMER

\"\"My grandmother used to call this time of summer, when it\’s hot and dry, the Dog Days of Summer. I could never understand why it was called Dog Days, and I still don\’t. It is hot, but not dry right now. This time of the year may be called Dog Days because we are dog tired when the day ends. This is canning and freezing time for us.

The Lord has blessed us with a good garden this year. My husband planted a \”little extra\” corn this year. We need to get as much as we  can to freeze. He always sells some on the road in front of out house. The corn goes fast when he puts it out there. This year it went a little faster than usual.

Our next door neighbor\’s daughter came to the house and wanted all we had in the garden. Wow! We have other people wanting corn also. We will shuffle and get everyone their corn, and I\’ll have plenty to put up.

It amazes me how much God is there in our lives. We have never gone hungry or without clothes. We\’ve always had a roof over our heads, and we\’ve always trusted God to give us what we need. We are not wealthy except in the love of God. What the Lord gives us makes us wealthy beyond measure. He has blessed us with a good garden this year. We will eat well this winter.
