Our world, as we know it, has changed drastically in the last few months. COVID 19 has made all of us take a different approacg to our lives. It has really changed the way we look at things, and the way we participate each day. No longer are we able to go out to eat a meal in a restaurant, but we take out our meals.
The last few months have made me cook more than I have since my children were small. In fact, I\’d forgotten how much I used to like to cook. We have also tried different recipes, and we\’ve put on a few pounds. I\’m thinking about taking off those few pounds, but they were easier to put on than take off.
During this time, I have also semi-retired, for the second time. This has also brought about some changes in our home life. It is nice to have more freedom. This week is a week that I will not be sitting at the computer all day.
All last week we heard about the rioting and looting. The marches made all of us uneasy. When they came to our small town, I\’ll have to admit that I was a little upset, but it was peaceful. For that, I\’m thankful.
I was brought up in a mixed community. There were about equal numbers of black and white residents. I never felt scared of our black neighbors, in fact when something happened, they were the first to come to our aid. They were friends. I have black friends today, and I love them, even if I don\’t see them very often. I guess I can\’t understand why all the commotion. Why can\’t we live in peace?
Christ is our example. He was a peaceful man. He died for us.
